Monica is the Billing and Operations Manager at Gowanus Treehouse where she combines her background in the arts with her love of creative business. She is a lifelong learner, and passionate about the Treehouse’s mission of helping children reach their full potential. 

Monica manages the behind the scenes efficiency of the client healthcare portal, optimizing costs, and the financial records. Her primary objective is to assist families and ensure that all children can receive quality OT and ensure ease of access services. 

Originally from Bogotá, Colombia, Monica relocated to New York to pursue her passion for performing arts. She holds a degree in Theater Production from Fordham University and worked as a stage manager. After becoming a mother, she studied at the French Culinary Institute and launched a specialty cake business. When she is not working at the Treehouse or wearing her chef’s hat, she enjoys freelance Spanish translating, camping, and traveling.
