Ariane Mallon

MS, OTR/L – Assistant Director

Ariane is a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) with experience providing services to children of all ages. She received a Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy with a specialization in Early Intervention from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, NY.

Currently, Ariane is a Senior OT and Co-Assistant Director at Gowanus Treehouse. In this role, she oversees therapy services, conducts evaluations, develops and leads treatment plans for small social groups and individual sessions, in addition to providing mentorship to fieldwork students and other OTs. Ariane’s passion is helping young children both neurotypical and neurodivergent reach their full potential. She specializes in working with children with sensory processing disorders, fine motor delays, social-emotional challenges, and other pediatric diagnoses. She uses a multi-sensory, play-based approach to therapy, utilizing concepts and strategies from the Social Thinking curriculum and Growth Mindset approach.

Ariane is committed to working collaboratively with parents, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to provide the best possible care for her clients. In her signature treehouse strategy, she employs enticing visual picture boards to break down complex obstacle courses and session plans into manageable steps, enabling children to organize themselves and remain focused on the task. Additionally, she is a strong believer that using co-regulation techniques help foster emotional self-regulation in children. When she’s not at the Treehouse, you might find her whipping up delicious creations for food pop-ups in the city, gardening, or pursuing her love of learning new languages.
